Course Structure;

The SEA team will adapt each day of the course to the conditions of the ocean.

Tides, wave size, wind and conditions in general, will play a major role in the format of each day. The SEA team will endeavor to teach each student, and complete all of their skills training in the lead up to the final session, which will be set up like a surf carnival.

During the final session each individual will prepare for his or her races, using the knowledge and training learnt over the previous days instruction.

Included in the preparation will be the following skills and drills:

* Surf swimming: Negotiating waves using the bottom, body surfing in the whitewater and green water, and ocean swimming.
* Boards: Paddling posture, flat-water technique, surf negotiation and wave skills.
* Rips and Sandbanks: Identification, selection and usage.
* Shallow water: Wading, dolphin diving and bunny hoping with boards
* Starts, finishes and changeovers
* Theory and video analysis (bad weather options)
