SEA Australia employs over 100 casual staff each year, and we are always on the look out for new staff members, particularly coming into our busiest periods October – December and February – April. We also offer school holiday work for our surf programs. 

Team Member FAQ's

Our staff typically have experience in any of the following –

  • Surf lifesaving
  • Surfing
  • Ocean swimming
  • Pool or Surf lifeguarding
  • Swim or Surf teaching. 

All staff 18 years and over must hold a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC)

Preference is given to applicants who hold qualifications such as: 

  • Pool or Surf Bronze medallion
  • Senior First Aid Certificate
  • Coaching development or foundation certification in aquatic sports.

Opportunities are also available for applicants who don’t hold these awards but have proven ocean skills and experience. Please contact us to find out more. 

SEA Australia runs surf education programs in the following beach locations.

  1. Manly
  2. Dee Why
  3. Cronulla
  4. Wollongong

16 years is the minimum age requirement. 

Minimum shift length is 2 hours, however our shift duration is typically 3 – 5 hours, Monday to Friday.

Flexibility is offered and staff can choose which days they are available to work.
